CMOx
CMOx provides part-time fractional chief marketing officers to businesses and private equity groups, and coaches marketers who want to become fractional CMOs.
CMOx, short for CMO Exponential, sells fractional CMO services to business owners and to private equity groups. Its pages describe a fractional CMO as an executive-level marketing leader who provides strategy, guidance and team development on a flexible, part-time basis. Its site also has sections for franchises, SaaS companies and startups, and a second audience of marketers who want to become fractional CMOs.
The responsibilities its pages list for a fractional CMO include strategic planning, multi-channel campaigns covering SEO, paid media, email, social and content marketing, team leadership, market analysis, customer experience and KPI reporting. The firm states that clients get a team of vetted marketing strategists, not a solo marketer.
For business owners it names three engagements. CMO Engaged starts at $7,000 a month for about ten hours a week inside the organization. CMO Half-Day Consult starts at $5,000 and centres on a four-hour strategy session using the Functional Marketing Framework. CMOx Advisor starts at $3,000 a month with twice-monthly sprint planning calls and a six-month minimum commitment. The first two are described as a fit for companies with annual income of at least $1 million.
On results, its team page states that founder Casey Stanton created the Functional Marketing Framework while acting as a part-time CMO for two companies, and claims it turned a failing 7-figure business around in 4 months. Its workshop page also states that Stanton has spent six years coaching more than 750 fractional CMOs. CMOx is a US-based organization with a team scattered across the states.
Packaged offers, as the agency names them

Who it fitsOpinion, not a ranking
From its own pages, CMOx offers fractional CMO services for private equity groups, franchises, SaaS companies and startups, and describes clients of all sizes, from startup to established company. It serves businesses led by a CEO and Board, with its CMOx executive reporting weekly to both on agreed KPIs and assisting HR in finding and managing marketing talent. The problems it takes on include translating the vision of the CEO and Board into campaigns and objectives, building multi-channel work across SEO, paid media, email, social and content, and replacing a tactic-focused marketer handed all marketing strategy. Clients engage at the engaged tier, with a CMOx inside the organization, or through a half-day consult, or as an advisor with sprint planning calls twice a month, and the advisor tier carries a minimum commitment.
